Hollywood for everyone
Industry leaders, such as Netflix, Disney and Hollywood, have been using Virtual production to help build their worlds, and in turn tell immersive stories.
Embracing VP, blockbusters like The Mandalorian and The Batman are prime examples of how LED screens and Unreal Engine are becoming standards in high-budget filmmaking.
The creatives in these productions unlocked the full potential of virtual production, creating complex environments in real time without the limitations of traditional location shoots or green screens.
Partnering with brands and agencies, we’re ready to help you unlock the creative, high-quality, and efficient potential of Virtual Production.
Projects
Launch Campaign
Starring Eva Mendes
Starring American star Eva Mendes, the launch campaign for HELL ENERGY’s new brand, FloeWater, unfolds in a visually striking world dominated by plastic. The campaign showcases diverse locations, from snowy mountains, a waterfall and an exotic jungle.
“We liked the idea of creating a film that not only stars Eva but also shows the power of nature from different angles and landscapes across the globe – without having to fly all over the world to capture this. We joined forces with 100%’s award-winning director Emma Westenberg to create this world at Ready Set Studios in Amsterdam.” – Rob Voortman, Creative Director at DEPT®.
Pioneering New Production Techniques
Café Moments (Japan)
Virtual Production offers the perfect solution to produce multi-market, international campaigns that benefit from short turnarounds and allow producer and client to shoot multiple locations aimed at different markets without the need for time consuming travel or relying on complex physical infrastructure.
Shoot a Japanese kitchen in the morning and seamlessly switch to a Mexican variant by means of prepared real-time environments on the LED-wall with minimal changes to the physical foreground and light setup.
Starbucks Café Moments is a campaign for the Asian market that used a hybrid approach with a physical kitchen element, complemented by a virtual Unreal Engine-scene in the background.
Reflections
The concept of creating a virtually endless landscape where reflections dominate, reminiscent of the Uyuni Bolivian salt planes, was a perfect match with virtual production and the use of in-camera visual effects (ICVFX). By using the large wall at ReadySet Studios to display stunning views of skies and vistas, with reflections of that same content in a shallow basin of water in front of the screen, amazing results were achieved in-camera.
Brand Campaign
“Don’t Get Blinded”
Zeeman presents the SpecialZ sunglasses: Don’t Get Blinded. This campaign was brought to life in a cutting-edge virtual production setup, using real-time Unreal Engine backgrounds crafted by Artbox.
The goal? To prove that premium quality doesn’t have to come with a premium price tag.
Interactive Online Campaign
Production company Bruut Amsterdam, together with Born05, developed and produced an interactive recruitment campaign for the Dutch hospitality sector, united under the Hospitality Pact.
To capture the extensive sector, consisting of numerous different venues and ambiences, in a single campaign, the client needed a clever production plan. That’s precisely what they came up with.
Online Campaign
“The Greener, The Cooler”
As part of an online campaign for the grassroots organization Justdiggit, we’re transported to Africa to celebrate the tangible successes of their regreening efforts, turning degraded lands into flourishing ecosystems. Directed by Safi Graauw and crafted in collaboration with production company Pumpkin Spice, the project brings powerful storytelling to life without compromising on sustainability.
“We do not want to tax the planet unnecessarily, so it is great not to have to travel halfway around the world to create such a production. We live what we preach, and technology has made that possible”, explains Remco Marinus, Executive Creative Director Havas Lemz.
